Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 30, 2026

Privacy by Design

Flog was built around a simple idea: your outdoor experiences are yours. That's why Flog is designed to store your field logs on your own device—not on our servers—and we never sell your personal information.

Information Stored by Flog

Flog stores information that you create or choose to include, such as:

  • Field log entries
  • Notes and observations
  • Activity information
  • Locations associated with your logs
  • References to photos you select from your photo library
  • Environmental data retrieved to enrich your logs (such as historical weather, river conditions, tides, or astronomical data)

This information is stored locally on your device.

Photos

Flog does not copy or upload your photos.

The app uses the photos you select from your Apple Photos library and stores only the information necessary to associate those photos with your field logs. Your original photos remain in your Apple Photos library.

Location

If you grant permission, Flog uses location information to:

  • identify where an activity occurred,
  • retrieve environmental information relevant to that location, and
  • display your field logs.

Location information is stored only on your device as part of your field log.

Data Collection

Flog does not collect or sell your personal information.

We do not build advertising profiles.

We do not track your activities across other apps or websites.

We do not sell your information to third parties.

Cloud Storage

The current version of Flog stores your information locally on your device.

No Flog account is required.

No field log database is stored on Flog servers.

If future versions introduce optional cloud synchronization or online features, those capabilities will be opt-in and this Privacy Policy will be updated accordingly.

Third-Party Services

Flog may request publicly available environmental information (such as weather or river data) in order to enhance your field logs.

These requests are used only to retrieve information relevant to your selected activity and are not used to create user profiles.

Your Control

You control your information.

You may:

  • delete individual field logs,
  • delete all app data by removing the app from your device,
  • revoke Photos or Location permissions at any time in iOS Settings.

Children's Privacy

Flog is not directed toward children under the age of 13 and does not collect personal information from children.

Changes to This Policy

If Flog's privacy practices change in future releases, this Privacy Policy will be updated and the effective date will be revised.
